The trip covers central Kerala the most beautiful region of Kerala like nobody else. So we can begin by picking you up from Kochi (Ernakulam) Railway station or CIAL Airport.. Try to make an early arrival at Kochi so that we can pack as much as experiences as possible on your first day itself. So from the airport we make our way to the beautiful Athirapally waterfalls from where you can enjoy the waterfalls and have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the spectacular waterfalls. From Athirapally we drive towards Munnar through Kodanad elephant elephant camp and Kothamangalam. We shall also pass through Cheeyaparaand and Valara water falls, Adimali town and finally expect to reach Munnar by about 6 PM. The hill vistas as we close in on Munnar is a feast for the eyes. So at Munnar we will proceed to drop you off to your hotels and leave you for that much required rest and relaxation after such a long delightful day.

Day : 2 - A day in Munnar

On Day 2 we have an exciting day around the Kannan Devan Hills of Munnar. Munnar is a hill station in Kerala that is situated at a height of 1600 meters above Sea Level and ranging up to 2695 meters above sea level in the Anamudi peak region. The hills of Munnar are the tallest it gets in the mountain ranges south of the Himalayas. Munnar experiences pleasant weather due to its high altitude across the year and in the winter the temperatures even plummeting to subzero temperatures. Our day in Munnar is packed with as much as we can cover in 1 day. We can begin with going on a drive to the Top station region along the way passing through the Lake district of Munnar. In the Mattupetty dam region, we can do boating and a short elephant ride too. After that, we can drive further up the road along which we shall come across more waterbodies that the region is famous for and can continue the scenic drive up to the top station where the regular road ends. From the top station, we can return and visit the Eravikulam national park and the Rajamalai region where we can view the endangered Nilgiri Tahr a species that is a mix of Deer and that of a mountain goat. By afternoon we can proceed to Suryanelli from where we can hire a 4 wheel jeep for an exciting offroad drive to reach the Kolukkumalai. Kolukkumalai viewpoint is situated at a height of 2200 meters above sea level and the sceneries are nothing short of spectacular. A narrow 3 - 4 meter wide path separates the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu on both sides of the hills and the walk through the path with just astounding scenery on both sides will definitely be one of the most memorable parts of this trip for you. After finishing the Kolukkumalai trip we can return to our hotel where you can relax for the evening in the misty surroundings.

Day : 3 - Drive through the hills

On day 3 we embark on a picturesque 100 km drive through the western ghats to Thekkady. At Thekkady boat landing we shall take a boat ride through the Periyar lake. If you are lucky you stand some chance to spot some wild life during the boat ride. However with or without the wild life spotting the boat ride sure is an exciting experience that is not to be missed while in Thekkady. The boat ride finishes by 5.30 PM after which you can check into to your hotels for a relaxed evening with the sounds of jungle towering above everything else..Optionally night activities include jungle trek in the night..

Day : 4 - Touch the backwaters

Next day we can leave Thekkady by 10.00 AM. On the way we stop by at Panchalimedu viewpoint to enjoy the magnificent view of the mighty Western ghats for the last time in this trip.. And from there we start our hill descend and we pass through the rolling hills of Kottayam district. The drive offers spectacular scenery with the rubber plantations covering in from both sides of the road. We shall stop by for an awesome Eastern style Kerala lunch at Pala town. We hope to reach Kumarakom by 3.30 PM. It gives you good enough time to check into one of those stunningly beautiful Vembanad lake facing resorts in Kumarakom and freshen up before you get ready for that lovely evening Backwater cruise..An experience that cannot be missed while in Kumarakom..

Day : 5 - Kuttanad region

Picking you up from your resorts, we head towards Kottayam town and from there we head southwards in MC road and from Kurichy we turn towards west to take you through the spectacular Kuttanad region of Kerala. Kuttanad region is regarded as the most pretty region in Kerala. It is a low lying land mass that extends across 3 districts of Alleppey, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta. It stretches upto 70 kms long from its southern most point in Chennithala in Alleppey district and all the way to Chempu in northern part of Kottayam district. The land mass is mostly paddy fields that are crossed by rivers, lakes and backwaters making it a labyrinth of water ways. A good part of Kuttanad region lies below the sea level a rare distinction which it shares only with Netherlands in the whole world. We criss cross through this region and we stop for lunch at a toddy shop, another experience which is unique only to Kuttanad region. Toddy shops are famous for its delectable seafood delicacies and fresh toddy.. A lunch in this toddy shop by the river side is sure to be a memorable experience and one among the highlights of this trip for you. And we head on to Alleppey through AC road, the road which cuts rite across the Kuttanad region. In Alleppey we have allocated enough time so that we can go on a shikara boat ride or even a house boat ride for 2 hours. Alleppey is called as the Venice of the East and a visit to Alleppey without its signature boat rides are a sure big miss..

Day : 6 - The Backwaters of Kerala

Day 6 is a special day in the trip because we have an exciting Day full-day cruise through the enchanting backwaters covering 3 districts of Kerala. The cruise is done from Alleppey Boat Jetty on a Catamaran boat and the cruise starts from 11.30 Am and we return to the Alleppey Boat Jetty by 4-30 - 5 PM. The cruise will take the travelers from Alleppey to the Furthest point about 25 kms away to the north of the massive Vembanad lake and through the Vembanad lakes Eastern side we shall be cruising to Kumarakom and then a tour of the Kuttanad region by the boat. After the cruise we shall return to our Seaside resort to continue the stay on Day 6 also.

On Day 7 we pick you up from your beach resorts and head north towards Fort Kochi by the Alleppey- Fort Kochi beach road. A charming seaside area, Fort Kochi is known for its Dutch, Portuguese, and British colonial architecture, and the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi Beach. St. Francis Church was the original burial site of explorer Vasco da Gama. Upscale eateries and chic cafes serve European as well as Kerala specialties. Heritage buildings in Tort Kochi today house contemporary art galleries and museums turned restaurants . We have included a pit stop for lunch at the famous Kashi Art Cafe. The streets and promenades around the restaurant are worth exploring a bit with the spice and souvenir shops. We shall also visit the Mattancherry bazaar street and the Jew street, all of them still retains the look and feel of the bazaar from the original spice trade days centuries ago..

Day : 8 - Kochi city & theIslands

On Day 8 of the trip, we shall explore the Mainland and the commercial area of Kochi, which is called Ernakulam city, and the surrounding islands that make up the city of the Kochi. Ernakulam city is just about 14 km north of Fort Kochi beach and the city is as commercial and packed as most big cities in India. Other than the city tour of Ernakulam what will make it more interesting would be the islands tour and a seafood lunch from a very famous Eatery in the city. After exploring the Ernakulam city in the first half of the day we shall visit the St George Cathedral which is regarded as one of the biggest cathedrals in Asia. After that, we can have the included Seafood Thali from Periyar Riverside seafood restaurant. Then we can go on a drive through the Coastal Road on the periphery of the city which is otherwise called the Container Road a very attractive and scenic road by itself. From there towards the later half of the day, we shall head on to visit the island of Kadammakudy, Mulavukadu, Vallarpadam, and Bolghatty islands. Among the islands, Kadammakudy is quite unique with a fairy tale feel with its narrow roads, cute bridges, and winding waterways across the island. In the evening we can visit the lovely Valappu beach in the Vypin islands and then head back to Fort Kochi by taking a ferry across from the Vypin island.

Day : 9 - The last day of the trip


The last day of the trip can be spent by doing the essential shopping typically done by all tourists visiting the state. The typical shopping lists include Spices, Cashews, and other Dry Fruits and Nuts, Banana, Tapioca, and a variety of other fresh chips, Kerala traditional sarees, Exotic Tropical fruits, etc. Ernakulam has a lot of good shopping spots, such as The Lulu Mall, The Broadway, etc. And when it's time for your flights we can head to the airport for you to catch your return flights home.
